SD Projects Ltd (SDPL) is a UK based Project Management Company. SDPL provides Design Management, Construction Management and Site Supervision Services to MNCs in Europe and Asia.
We are currently looking for a Construction Manager, on one-year contract basis, who would lead a small Engineering team and supervise the seismic retrofit of up to 3 (working) factories in Northern India.
The Owner of these facilities will appoint Consultants, possibly located outside of India, to carry out the retrofit design. However, local contractor would carry out the actual construction/modifications. SDPL will provide the site management functions necessary to ensure that all the works are carried out safely and to the required quality by the contractor and with minimum disruption to current ongoing operations.

The Construction Manager’s duties will include, but are not limited to:
· Be the leader of the site based team
· Be the pivotal person between the owner and its many stakeholders and the construction contractors and represent SDPL.
· Work with the Design Consultant and ensure that the construction contractor understand the design intents.
· Ensure that the construction contractor carries out its functions as per the contract conditions
· Ensure the construction contractor maintains site safety, delivers construction quality and sticks to project schedule.

The successful candidate would have:
· Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and /or Structural Engineering
· Minimum 10 years of experience in Construction Supervision and Quality Inspection of large industrial or commercial buildings.
· Experience in Seismic retro- fitting of factories either in India or abroad, analytical skills and ability to draw up detail method statement before any major task is undertaken.
· Experience in reviewing change orders, contractor’s claim schedules etc.
· Thorough understanding of shop drawings for civil, structural, fire protection, HVAC, electrical and plumbing etc.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Project and ability to plan construction sequences.
· Excellent communication skill and ability to deal with client’s senior managers as well as the contractor’s management.
· Excellent presentation skill
· Excellent report preparation skill.

Language skill: Ability to communicate in English is a must. Ability to speak Hindi would be an advantage.
