Test Architect

You will be part of a Center Of Excellence delivering quality applications. You will be responsible for ensuring quality in architectural design, including consideration for performance and scalability issues, developing test strategies and test plans, ensuring that the applications get solid code coverage, designing test automation frameworks, and scenarios, designing test cases and determining the appropriate level of testing for group of applications/ application/part of application and ensuring that test environments are on par with production environment. You will also determine the feasibility of customer requests, and be able to suggest alternative approaches to solving business problems. You will bear the quality if the group of applications/application/part of application on your shoulders.

The natural progressions of these jobs will be increase in scope of the responsibility of quality from application level to group of applications to Center of Excellence and Microsoft IT wide quality assurance, and being able to shape several of the test strategies and philosophy for Microsoft IT and Microsoft as a company.

Requirements for the position include strong test background, understanding of various test methodologies, automation frameworks, quality concepts, and experience in shipping multiple products/applications from a quality assurance role. The person should be hands on in technology, be able to review designs and suggest modifications and point issues, as well as be able to do code reviews and do automation level coding. This is a great job even for people who want to be future architects, coders, and Program managers.
