PART TIME BUYERS - APPAREL - (NON INDIANS ONLY)

Brief Background: our clients are looking for Purchasing Agents or Buying Companies across Eastern Europe to procure books on our behalf so we can broaden our supply network.
Due to the peculiarity of the job, we prepare every agent to perform the required tasks through specific training sessions where we’ll be giving a more extensive background on the book business and will be coaching negotiation techniques so each agent can confidently approach target distributors. This training session will take place in London, England during the third week in March.

Minimum Requirements:

- Knowledge of English Language (comfortable to communicate in English)
- Fluency in the local language
- Negotiation skills
- Access to phones, computers and internet
- Knowledge of the local market (how to negotiate in the local culture, research bookstores, book market, etc)
- Computer literate and familiar with office routines (mail, email, files, Microsoft tools)


Desired Requirements:

- The person should have an established company that would perform the business transactions or should know local companies that could work as the exporting company.


Workload – Time

- An average of 10 hours per week performing activities such as: phone calls, emails, file, and eventual visits to distributors, bookstores and bookfairs.
- 2 or 3 days of full time training to be held in a country to be defined.

Obs: 1) The first weeks of the business set up, it might be necessary a few more hours per week. 2) Considering that many of the routine tasks can be performed after or before regular business hours, the agent can be involved in other activities or jobs.




Preliminary Research

- Before we decide to establish the representation, we will order a preliminary research on the subject market including items such as: demographics, book market (book stores, book prices, websites, publishers established in the country), academic panorama (number of universities, number of students, main courses, etc)

Compensation

- Compensation is always discussed personally by the team managers, however the following statements apply:

a) The agents will be hourly remunerated for the time invested in performing the tasks.
b) If there is a company involved in the representation (either if the company belongs or not to the agent), the books traded through this company will receive a mark up to cover the operational costs.

In case we do not identify any company to perform the export activity or if the volume of the operation becomes significant, we can eventually establish its own local company. In this case, the agent may become an employee or remain as a consultant and may be asked to recruit and hire local staff.
