Engineering Manager – Oil Industry – (DETAILIED ENGINEERING) – Equatorial Guinea - Africa
Posistion Reporting to Managing Director
Job Location: Alduco SL, Avda de la Libertad, 43-Malabo
Equatorial Guinea is the third largest producer of oil in Africa
The client provides EPC, fabrication & maintenance services to industry in Equatorial Guinea, and has an immediate need for an engineering manager with extensive experience in EPC of onshore & offshore oil & gas facilities. You will be responsible for setting up putting a team together & managing them.
In conjunction with their partners our services include EPC, fabrication & maintenance services and General oil field supplies including (valves, pumps, compressors, PPE etc).
Major Responsibilities and duties
Setup in conjunction with the Managing Director.
Determine clients needs and requirements and match and coordinate between and them and our principals technology services and product offerings represented by our company
Account/ Project management of customers requests
Manage the heads/ team leaders of the warehouse, fabrication and paint shops
Recruit and manage technical & support staff
Be responsible in conjunction with the managing director for creating and executing the sales plan in accordance with the companies objectives
objectives with broad knowledge of inter-dependency of disciplines / functions.
Management of engineering interface between various parties involved, Management of subcontractors / vendors, Knowledge of contractual matters and Project Control (Planning / scheduling and cost control) as necessary for Project Management.
Preparation of bill of materials (BOM), Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and re/generation of design drawings for various projects
Preparation of Mechanical Datasheet, Specification / Selection, Technical Bid for Static Equipment (Pressure Vessels, Columns, Reactors, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Air Cooled Exchangers, Storage Tanks, Filters, Trays / Packing etc.) and Packaged Equipment with overall knowledge of rotating equipment, material handling, HVAC equipment / packages and Piping as required for leading mechanical engineering team.
Lead a team of Process/Mechanical/Piping/Civil/Instrumentation/Electrical Engineers
Provide assistance to Project Control/ Project Management to maintain the schedule and to control the cost of the equipment.
Provide support to Construction and Sub-contracts to finalise the scope of site work.
Constant Communication with clients to gain their 'buy in'.
Closing out client comments on design reviews and HAZOP reviews -- Management of changes in Scope of Work (Change Orders or Variation Orders)

Skills, Knowledge required
Demonstrate extensive experience on construction/ expansion of onshore and offshore oil & gas, construction & transportation facilities
An understanding of the oil & gas market with an understanding of exploration and production in the oil & gas sector
Excellent knowledge of our products & services (EPC, Construction & Fabrication services, General oil field supplies etc)
Proven account management experience
Proven track record of winning businesses
Direct sales and marketing experience with E&P companies
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong organisational and analytical skills combined with excellent PR and communication skills
Excellent problem solving and oral and written communications skills. You demonstrate a passion for delivering value to customers. Your sales process is built on your technical expertise through education and relevant industry experience
Sound computer skills
A university degree in a technical field or related discipline is preferred along with 10+ years of experience in project engineering or mechanical maintenance engineering.
Knowledge of International codes & standards like ASME (SEC. VIII-Div-1 & Div-2, SEC. II, SEC.IX, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, etc.), PD 5500, AD Merkblatter, TEMA, API-660, API-661, API-662, API-620, API-650, AISC, ASCE, IBC, UBC, IS etc. as applied to Static Equipment in Oil & Gas Industry.
Awareness / Application of Quality Management and Health, Safety & Environment principles. Experience with operating procedures to suit ISO-9001, ISO-14000, OHSAS 18000 and ASME code stamping (U, U2 & S stamp jobs) requirements. Exposed to latest Total Quality Management tools (like Six Sigma, Juran's Quality Improvement Technique, TQM, COPQ, Kaizen concept etc.) through various training program and direct participation.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and mechanical equipment design packages like Compress (CODEWARE), PV Elite & CODECALC (COADE), MICROPROTOL, FINGLOW and various in-house developed software programs as gained through hands on experience. Also, familiar with drafting packages like AutoCAD, PDMS, etc.
Overall knowledge of rotating equipment, material handling, HVAC equipment / packages and Piping as required for leading engineering team.
Experience required in some or all of: vessels, columns, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, engines and mechanical packages generally in accordance with API standards
