SQL Server Database Programmer/DBA

We want you to help us shape the future and we have an immediate opening in our Chandigarh (India) office for a Database Administrator.

Primary responsibilities:

Data analysis; both logical and physical database design, managing all database services, and remote servers; database backup and recovery; security; database system software installations and upgrades; performance monitoring and reporting; tuning; capacity planning; and automating database administration functions.
Key Participant in development and support projects to design, implement, modify and optimize databases and related software.
Ensures that databases support business rules embodied in the design of the applications.
Support s and maintains security through the use of user names, passwords, and restricted views.
Develops and maintains written policies in support of all of these objectives.
Develops database standards and guidelines.
Creates, tests, implements, and documents production scripts that streamline database processes.
Provides assistance to developers on best-practice database design, programming, and implementation tasks.
Requirements:

Experience supporting SQL Server 2000 and 2005 in a hosted 24x7 environment
Experience scaling databases to support a large-volume of concurrent users
A highly inquisitive mind with a demonstrated ability to understand enterprise systems and development platforms from a technical architecture and business use case standpoint
Knowledge of best practices for high-availability systems and database design, security, backups, and scalability
Familiarity with SQL Server clustered database with a SAN environment (NetApp, EMC, etc.)
BA/BS required.
Candidate should possess a minimum of 2-4 years experience designing, implementing, and supporting SQL server databases.
Data modeling a plus (OLAP, BI, etc.)
